Meet Stacey

Stacey Ann Berry is an innovative entrepreneur, self-published author and highly sough after speaker.  As a presenter, she inspires audiences to take a leap of faith, motivates them to make a difference, and “ignite their inner essence.” As a public policy professional, she provides thought leadership on the impact of digitization of essential services, harm caused by bias in AI, surveillance technologies, and the importance of protecting human rights in the digital age.

Prior to launching her own company, Stacey taught professional development seminars at Seneca College within the Continuing Education Department and facilitated workshops for United Way Toronto and York Region.  She also interned as a Federal Policy assistant for Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) in Washington, D.C, where she conducted political mapping, legislative research, created a 95-page congressional dossiers, attended US Congressional Committee hearings at Capitol Hill and prepared briefings on public policy issues related to housing, youth violence and veteran affairs. She also worked in the public sector for the federal and provincial government, as well as, the private sector as a medical receptionist, customer service representative and legal assistant. Stacey’s extensive professional experience in private, public and non-profit sectors provided her with the essential building blocks to thrive as an entrepreneur.

Stacey is passionate about community development, advocacy and capacity building. Some of her community involvement includes volunteering for the 29th Annual Turkish Conference on U.S. Relations for the American Turkish Council, supporting the Transitional Housing Corporation's Adopt An Apartment program and participated in the 2010 Y2Y Global Youth Conference at the World Bank headquarters in Washington D.C. She volunteered as the Chair for the Spelling Bee of Canada’s fundraising committee and organized the 2013 “Support the Love of Reading Fundraiser.” She interned as a Floor Director for Rogers TV, Toronto, organized health and educational symposiums for marginalized communities.

Stacey participated in the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Advocacy Day in support of Bill 45, Making Healthier Choices Act . She volunteered on the planning committee for the Olive Branch of Hope's annual We Believe Gala, served as a mentor for Inspire North and an Executive Reporter for Soulful Image Magazine.

She also served as a director for the Toronto Board of Health. She chaired the Public Health Champion Awards Selection Committee, served on the Performance Appraisal of the Medical Officer of Health Committee and the Association of Local Public Health Agencies (alPHa) Board of Directors.

Stacey currently serves as the Toronto Chapter President for Blacks in Technology Foundation, which makes tech careers more accessible for black professionals and provides resources, mentorship, career development and scholarships.

Stacey completed professional development training in management and leadership at the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars in Washington, D.C.  She has a Masters' Degree in Public Policy, Administration and Law and an Honours BA from York University. She also has a diploma in Court and Tribunal Administration and a certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Seneca College. 

Stacey was recognized as one of the 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women and received a Role Model award from Diversity Advancement Network.  She is also the recipient of the "Women of Courage-Young Leaders" Award from the Endless Possibilities of Hope and Development Organization and the"Outstanding Contribution to Student Experience"Award from York University, Liberal Arts and Professional Studies. She was also recognized as Canada’s 100 Black Women to Watch by the Canadian International Black Women Excellence and recognized as one of the “150 Neighbors and Community Builders” by University of Toronto Scarborough.  Stacey is also a recipient of the G. Raymond Chang Outstanding Volunteer Award from Toronto Metropolitan University.

She currently serves as the founder and president of Bstellar® Group Inc., which provides government relations, strategic planning services and professional development workshops.
